Default How to clean plastic plants

I apologize if this thread does not belong here. I have plastic plants in my discus aquarium that are now starting to have black stuff forming on the leaves and stems. I'm guessing that these are algae. I can rub them off using my fingers especially those that are on the leaves, but I was wondering if there is an easier way to remove them.

I clean mine under running warm water in a sink. just keep rubbing, the algae should come off fairly easy.,

Ryan, I did just that, bleached them then rinsed several times. A bit of bleach and hot water worked wonder on the plastic plants. They looked as vibrant as the first time I placed them in the aquarium.

Top rack of the dishwasher for me...as long as the wife isn't home. No soap.

+1 Highly recommend a bleach with no smell (old good bleach) then rinse well and add in a clean container prime or something familiar
