    Angry Tank Re-Seal :(

Never fun having to re-seal a tank especially just minutes after a 80g w/c on this 112g....Drip-Drip-Drip.
Just got the silicone off and now ready for a acetone wipe followed by a good alcohol rub.*

It all worked out plus I still have a rack waiting to set-up with tanks and all. If I need something I will give you a hauler for sure.

Pat...everything went together fine but with bigger tanks you have very little time before silicone skims and will be to late to spread seal.
I rigged up a DIY joint spreader with a plastic putty spreader. Handle end shaped for vertical sides and the blade end for the bottom which was a wider seam taking more silicone.
It sat 7 days after silicone seal empty and 7 days with water and no fish. After that set it back up no leaks so in went some new additions 9 young Altum Angels from Atabapo.

Worked out good especially when you need a free hand/finger that is not mucked with silicone.

So, you didn't actually take it apart, you just re-did the inside seals, right?

    Just removed inside silicone Steve.
Didn't you recently reseal your tank and did you take your tank apart?

I just swapped it out and haven't resealed it yet. Now I have a second one with a similar drip. I'm thinking maybe the metal gorilla racks they were on flexed enough that a leak developed, but not sure. Anyway, now I've got two to deal with.

Sorry to hear Steve...your rack maybe the culprit.
I don't mind taking off old seal and prep with tape...but the next time with larger tanks it should be a 2 person job...one with the trigger gun and the other right behind spreading and taking off tape. A third on the tape would really guarantee a good job.

I redid a 150 recently, used my finger to spread, it was a pain in the ***. Nice job on yours. I agree with having a second person help out.
