I feel quite familiar with the seriousness of your Mom's situation, Al - since following my recent hip surgery an ultrasound revealed that I too have a blood clot in my leg, for which I'm currently under blood thinning treatment and will continue to be for the next several months.
I'm wishing the very best outcome for your Mom - and know you will be of great help to her in dealing with this.
