Tank cycle purigen chemipure
Hey guys so I have a 125 gallon that i set up about 3 weeks ago. Fx6 filter on it with chemipure in it and I also had a Purigen reactor. I was using Seachem Stability the first week to get the cycle going but my readings are still zero. I realized that the purigen reactor was probably hindering the BB from creating so i dismantled it few days ago. I left the chemipure in there. Readings still at zero and I have several fish in my tank so I should see something on my tests. I am now planning to take out the chemipure. I cant find anything on how I should store it, wet or dry... anyone have any idea? I wrote to boyd (the manufacturer) 3 days ago and no reply.

Re: Tank cycle purigen chemipure
Wet should be fine. Are you adding ammonia?
It's not bad to remove purigen and chemipure as they are somewhat pointless for start up of a tank, but they should not harm the initial cycle. The don't directly absorb ammonia, nitrite or nitrate, only organic charged compounds that eventually degrade to those.
