    Default 20 Gallon grow out

So I am a little new with Discus -only had 3 (juvies about 4 months old) but then was able to get these 6 little guys- they are just a tad smaller than a dime..
here is a few picture of the set up right now and I'll be making changes as they grow..
I've decided to open this thread - to document and be able to see pictures as they grow in chronological order to see difference in sizes. (Temperature 84.5) -
they are eating well, and no issues at all with WC (don't seem to be bothered at all)

Also , here is a picture of when I got them , and then once in the tank I was able to get better pictures.

    these were just taken yesterday.

your guess is probably better than mine, I was told red alenquer for both but one does look more royal blue I thought-- so maybe someone experienced could help us both .. lol

In my grossly inexperienced judgment (blush) the fish on the right looks to be a wild type, and could be an alenquer for sure...the one on the left i believe is a domestic strain...my best guess is red turq...please someone educate us novices

Danny, in the first quote there is a linked thread and in that thread I said this

So that is my best guess on this pair assuming they are an Alenquer/Cuipeua cross. The supplier is always the best place to ask this question.

All 6 are doing well... I've been feeding frozen baby brine shrimp mixed with flakes broken into super small pieces... WC about 80% every day (except for one day I missed )... I also tried this good called first bites.. but is so small I can't even tell if they ate it lol...

Thanks Pat. I'm not sure what partial or full royal actually means. I'm my ignorance of discus root species, I don't have a clear understanding of where the genetics have emerged from, but I did think full patterned fish were domestic hybrids of the wild types. I'm guessing now that is incorrect, yes? Lol

Danny, a semi-royal has the striations going partially down the body and a full royal has the striations covering the whole body. There are definitely wilds which are full royals.

Thanks Pat. That's awesome there is fully striated wild fish. I love this hobby. I have been in it for 38 years and still learning. Thanks for clarifying that for me, and helping me to increase my knowledge!
