Default Stringy feces but few protozoa

I have a young Discus that many times has whitish stringy feces, the fish is otherwise very healthy. It eats well and even dominates larger aggressive fish. I have collected samples of feces before they hit the tank floor on three separate occasions and looked at them under a microscope. So far I have seen very few protozoa and no nematode eggs, it is surprisingly healthy looking poop.

I can't find any evidence of what is causing the condition but have purchased Metroplex anticipating some type of pathogenic protozoa. I am reluctant to treat the fish without visual evidence under the microscope.

Could there be another cause for what I'm seeing? All of the other fish in the tank are healthy and don't show any similar signs.

Alot of things can cause it including stress and food choices. Id separate it in a hospital tank for now and observe further.

Though you arent seeing anything doesnt mean its not there though. It really takes a well trained eye to see protozoans and identify them.
