Default Please comment on my tap water

Cycling now as I get back into this hobby. Can’t believe it’s been 20 yrs since buying 6 blue diamonds from wattley.
My tap is 90 ppm, 7.4 ph with .25 nitrates. Nothing else detectable. Other then prime for water changes, any concerns here? And thx,’this is my first post.

The pH and hardness are fine, but I'm not sure what you mean by ".25 nitrate". Can you check that? What test do you have for nitrate?

    Hi Silver,

Are you using the API master test kit, or the strips? With the master test kit the first Nitrate reading is 0ppm then next level is 5.0ppm...

Welcome to SimplyDiscus! And back to the hobby!

You mentioned you are cycling? Im guessing your ammonia and nitrites are 0 after cycling and the nitrates are alls you are detecting? Or do you mean your water has nitrates in it out of the tap of .25? How long have you cycled the tank and by what method? What size tank is it and what do you have for filtration? More info would be great.

    thanks and welcome again!
