Anyone know how to clean corner overflow compartments?
Here’s a pic of my corner overflow compartment. I’d like to clean them but I’m at a loss and can’t find any thread through search. 8B43240A-E9B1-4F71-81D6-15093275F5A9.jpg

Turn the pump off, let the water settle. Siphon the water out of the overflow chamber, remove the overflow and you should be good to clean.

I turn the pump off, let it settle, then pull the overflow. The water flows into the sump along with anything loose. I then wash it out with tank water. Then I pull the poret from the sump and clean that.

Well that sounds easy enough! Thanks!

The hardest part is pulling out the overflow. It’s a tight fit in that corner.

im Still trying to figure out what a poret is.... You are talking to a sump dummy here. This feels like a nail biter already!

It’s foam. My sump is dead simple. Water flows over bio balls and then to poret foam. I have the bio balls in a mesh bag. I pull the bioballs out and let the poret foam catch what flushes from the overflow.

OHHHH I get it! I have filter socks. I think the foam may be more cost effective. Those socks are a bit pricey! I may try to switch to poret now that I know what it is! Ha ha Thanks Lucas! I feel a lot more confident now thanks to you and Adam. This weekend my fishies are getting a clean overflow!
