Update on lollipop. Today is her 7th dose. We are 1/2 way there. She actually came out to the front and swam around a little after wc and was pecking at the bottom of the tank. I thought she might be hungry so I stuck a little piece of fdbw on the glass, but she hasn’t eaten it. I siphoned up a stringy poop a couple days ago but haven’t seen any since.
Time will tell, but she does seem more engaged and looking around more.

Some of the Discus in this thread look Fuzzy , they may have a secondary infection which Metro will not help. I would advise trying Methylene Blue, FMG or a short dip in a 2 PPM solution of PP. lol

Patty, You may be able to entice her to start eating with live foods.. This time of year we can find a ton of small insects and larve as well as small baby earth worms. Avoid ants and beetles but its worth a try with others including mosquito larvae. LFS that sell marine may also have live Brine shrimp which is an excellent food for getting a fish to eat.

What? There’s a fungus among us? I hope you were just teasing me about my photo skills.
The last week we’ve had helicopters flying around spraying for mosquitos. I didn’t realize this at first but had an awful taste on my tongue after watching/wondering what they were doing flying so low. Now I run back indoors as it tastes worse than metronidazole (ie, right way, wrong way thread).
Knowing that, I’m hesitant to try anything from my back yard. I will look for some live baby brine. Great idea thank you.

Day 14 of metronidazole treatment for my sick lollipop completed last night. I am driving an hour to get some live brine today(closest place) I will do another huge wc and see if she will come around once the water isn’t medicated. Wish me luck.

Unbelievable. I added salt-a Tbsp/gal after a 90% wc. 3 hrs later I throw in some live brine and she decided to eat. I am hopeful now. Haven’t feel this hopeful in a long time. Now I’m going to read up on salt. Temps at 90. I know she’s not out of the woods yet, but this is a good sign. Thanks to all here for getting us this far.

She ate live brine again tonight and is no longer hanging by the filter all the time. She came to the front of the tank when I came home from work and for my husband too. I changed 50% water last night and again tonight and didn’t add more salt. Who knows she may just pull through after all. My little scrapper, I knew she had it in her. If she comes to greet me in the morning I’ll offer her some food.

When you decide to reduce your temp make sure you do it gradually over let say 3 days .good luck.
