Default Is it Possible to Wean Juveniles From Kick *** Beefheart?

    Hi Everyone,

My plan is to feed growing discus a home made mix of beefheart, with all kinds of other, delicious, good for them stuff. The tank will be BB, so no boundaries there. Just suck it all up when they're done.

My question is to people who grow out discus in BB's, but then move them to planted. Is it possible to wean them off messy foods, to more convenient foods in a planted tank, without compromising their health and colour?

Hey Rob...I see no issues with weaning off b/h when grow-out adults are transferred to a planted tank. There are alternative foods that contain b/h in Flake, Pellets and FDBW. However don't get discouraged if it takes time for Discus to accept new foods.
