    Exclamation Does this bother you?

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/amphtm...ul-of-dollars/

Many civil rights groups are really bothered by it. I know some here feel loss of privacy is just the new norm but I am not one of them. This kind of stuff really burns me up at some base level I can't even express why.Its not that I worry about it being used to stop me from doing something illegal... its that its being used on me, period.

Yes it does bother me...talk about "big brother". It is way to easy for companies to misuse and abuse the data collected. We also have seen this with FB.

China is doing this now to track their population https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.c23884794b20.

I started to write a rant, but I think Pat covered it. I may post more later.

Petition signed. I also think I’ll leave them a little message on their fb page for their customers to see. They hate that and it gives me something to do with this anger I’m feeling. Thanks for sharing this.
I’d boycott China too, but then I’d be sitting here naked!

Signed. It's a brave, new world we live in... nothing like when I grew up, I'm afraid.

As long as people use all the social media and even just the plain old
internet your life is no longer private. I'm really surprised that people were
so shocked when they found out facebook knew about there private lives
when there broadcasting every single minute of there lives.
I don't use any of that stuff and I don't even own a cell phone.
The internet is all I use and that's bad enough.

Absolutely that bothers me. When George Orwell wrote Nineteen Eighty-Four it was just a work of fiction. Now it's coming to real life and our privacy is being eroded bit by bit. I do agree with Brady, though, people do put far too much out there on social media that the rest of the world doesn't need to know about. We do have some responsibility to keep our own private lives private -- some just aren't smart enough to stay aware of that.

I'm becoming more & more sensitive to any unwanted invasion to my privacy.
Its becoming a gigantic, horrific problem, as it occurs in so many ways that so often completely elude us.

Couple of years ago I let myself get talked into joining FB, and got so disgusted after only a couple of weeks of the stuff I was reading, that I quit & will never participate again, whether FB or any other social medium.

For this reason I'm with Brady in doing the same as he has stated in his last 2 sentences above - and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

I don't use FB any longer either.I deleted my account 5 years ago,but the info is still out there someplace.I don't even like to fill out the petition cause I need to leave info on myself.A few days ago I bought something from Best Buy;the check out person says,"OK we'll start with your phone number and email address."I said,No we won't;I'm here to pay for the goods. All you need is the money.I don't need a bunch of junk mail and nuisance phone calls.I felt very up set that a place like that would want or need my personal info.I felt like being rude to her, honestly.
