Is it OK to leave the batteries in the camera?
I haven't used my 80D in months. I got it out to start playing with it this summer again. I left the rechargeable battery in it last time. I know with conventional batteries you wouldn't do that for fear of leakage. Is there a problem here for the battery or the camera?

Steve I leave a set in in them months at a time. Lithium batteries like these are not prone to leaking unlike alkalines. I Dont think I have ever had one leak.
The only time I take them out is for long term storage like when I got a new body but couldnt bear to sell old faithful and instead archived with the "collection"

What Al said! At times I leave my canon untouched for 6 months and never bothered taking the batteries out, never had an issue

I haven't even thought about removing the batteries from my camera. Says how oblivious I am to this stuff lol. But reading this, I think I'll start doing that when ever I remember to.

I only remember to take them out when they are flat and I have to put them in the charger!
