    Default The Ultimate Breeding Thread....

ok its not "The Ultimate"Breeding thread but it could be .Its just a thread where members can post the pairs and fry they currently are working with. The idea here is for hobby breeders to share what they are working on currently...so if you have any pairs on eggs or fry please post pics here to show them off.

Hope to see many pics here over time.

    Thanks,

Breeding fish is what forced me to get so many tanks. I had guppies breed in my first tank and I was hooked ever since.

Beautiful! Do you use RO water for your discus breeding? If not, what is your TDS? I use tap water and my TDS is 250 and I've been having trouble getting the discus eggs to hatch.received_236228080478893.jpgreceived_235311067237261.jpg

I age all my water and my breeding and grow out tanks receive 100 percent water changes every 12 hours. I use tap water that is piped into an irrigation timer that goes into a holding tank until it hits a float valve around the 75% mark. Then, my reverse osmosis system fills the tank till it hits a separate float valve at the very top of the tank. This gives me a Tds of around 170-180. I can adjust this by moving the float valves up and down to change my mixture.
