Do you have a better picture of the affected area. My guess is hole in the head but need a better picture. I also see the eyes appear a little cloudy. You might want to try to increase your water changes.

As you can see the white has gotten larger. I tested the water and ammonia is 0ppm, nitrites 0ppm, nitrates 20ppms.

Ouch, do you have a hospital tank? It needs a very clean tank.

In this case I think you could use the water from the 125 if you need to but clean would be better. You want this fish in a hospital tank.
Thats basically a pimple that got infected.. When it ruptures its going to leave a substantial hole and scar.Sometimes they heal on their own but Antibiotics would probably be in order if the fish is important to you. Are the other fish ok? This isnt usually contagious but if your water quality was a factor, others may be affected.

For an antibiotic...Kanamycin would be my first choice or minocycline (maracyn2) or oxytetracycline as my next choices.

Yes it is important to me , it’s one of the four fish that I won on the auction that simply had . We have a decent lfs that carries quiet a selection of medicines and fish supplies . I’ll go tomorrow and pick up on of the antibiotics that you mentioned. Thank you all for your help . If it makes it through this illness I’ll let everyone know. Thanks again

    Navarro,
I am sorry to hear it. That was a pretty serious infection it had. Wish he could have been saved.
