    Default Recommendation for Air Pumps

    Hello All,
Im looking for recommendations for small but capable airpumps that will run 2 hydro 5s in 29 gal tanks. Some of my tanks are scattered around the house off the main pump. I have used the Hagen ? maxima pumps for years but Its hard finding replacement parts. Time for new pumps... must be quiet pumps.
    Thanks,
    Al

I've been using a whisper AP150 for the past year to push 4 sponges in 3 29 gallons and 1 40 gallon tank. I haven't had any issues and it's dead quiet to me.

I use a few Active Aqua dual outlet air pumps and have no complaints. A touch buzzy on the highest output, but quiet enough on the mid to lower end.

Plus one on the whisper Ap150. Really quiet and a lot of output.

These old maxima are strong pumps but so noisy...of course they are over 12 years old. I literally have to tape foam and wrap them or hang them so the touch nothing.

I will look into the ones you guys mentioned.Thx

    Hi Al,
I have a couple of the fluval Q2's. I have had them for a several months now and like them very much. High output and very very quiet. They had good reviews and are reasonble.

Thanks again guys. I decided to try the whispers. Chose the 60 and 100 as they had 2 outlets. The 60 was dirt cheap at Amazon for $13...the 100 was 19.99
Thats pretty fair prices and they are quiet. More than strong enough too.
