Does a stunted pair produce stunted offsprings?

Bought a pair last Sunday, saw them at my lfs cleaning the side of a box filter and gliding on it the way the lay their eggs. After 3 days from buying them they lay eggs already. If the eggs will survive don't know if the offsprings will also be stunted.

Hi Ricardo,
"Stunting" is a fish not reaching it's genetic shape potential due to environmental factors; usually sub-par water quality. So a stunted fish might carry genes for better looking fish. But this is pretty theoretical/hypothetical. A stunted fish is not usually a good choice for the energy required to raise fry.

If its stunted, that is from poor waterquality and / or feeding habits etc and not runted, than yes the fry should grow fine. though they likely will not lay as many eggs as a larger discus and depending on their size may or may not cope to well with fry on their back.
