Default LED and Glass Canopy Recommendations

Thinking of going to LED lighting for my planted 55 gal., (standard center bar) and need good recommendations for the LED's and reliable glass canopies that I hopefully won't have to replace the hinges for.

I've broken around 5 or 6 of the 24" and 30" glass Aqueon canopies. They use cheap 1/8" glass and crack easily. I also have some 1/4" glass lids that are very stout. Shouldn't be more than $10 per sq ft from a good glass shop. Pencil ground edges are cheap and resist chipping better than lightly sanded/swiped edges.

I use basic living hinges (what most commercial lids come with), but an acrylic piano hinge attached with silicone or epoxy would probably last longer.

I taped a hinge with [flex tape] that you see adv. on tv. Did it 6 mths. ago & still works good. May not be temp.

I like this Flex Tape idea!
