Default When to remove egg guard?

Hello everyone! New discus breeder question. When is it time to remove the egg guard? My pair kept on eating the eggs, so I guarded them and the male still recognizes the eggs, the female, not so much. I'm wondering if I should remove the female as well and let the male raise the fry for a short while and then reintroduce the female. I believe she was the one eating the eggs as well.IMG_20180626_193616.jpgIMG_20180626_193451.jpgIMG_20180626_193448.jpg

I wait until the wigglers swim out. I also find it useful to dribble meth blue over the eggs once they are laid. This is because the parents can't get as close to fan them and they can't mouth them like they can without the guard.
