I use only pellets and frozen blood worm, never beef heart. They will be fine without it.

    Hi and welcome Kadong .

First off , are they a proven pair (grown discus ) or just two discus ? If not , discus should be kept in a group of min 5-6 discus to avoid aggression and health issues.

As for the Beefheart , yes its a messy food but it is proven excellent for growing young discus and for its cheap price .
If your discus are full grown , you can switch to pellets or some other less messier foods , but if you raise youngs and decide to stay with BH than you should consider more WCs along the way .
Please do share some photos of your tank and discus with us .

95% homemade beef heart here. I just throw it in 3-4 times a day frozen chunks. They love it. I have never had a problem with clouding the tank. They eat every bit of it. I think if FDBW were available to me I would definitely feed them that as well.
