Beautiful! The Heckels clearly recovered under your and your friend's care. So is it a group of 6, with 4 Heckels? What are the other 2?

Thanks Mauro there four heckels and the two Manacapuru Reds. One of the reds chase the smaller heckels constantly which I do not like but can't do much about it now.

Beautiful wilds Pat. I especially like the heckels...are they "blue" heckels or simply "heckels"? I'm a new born as it relates to wild strains. On my phone the pics show them with a mauve hue. Is that present face to face?

Thanks Daniel, yes, these are blue heckels. more specifically Nhamunda heckels. Their base color does appear sort of mauve at this point even in person. It is my hope that they will retain their blue color as they grow.

Mood and lighting make a tremendous difference in appearance, especially for heckels in my experience. One day they look like nothing much, next they shine the brightest blue. I think you’re in for a treat once they’re settled

I know I am Tobi One of the red's is a holy terror and needs to be removed but need to finish QT first!! I believe that will make a big difference. Softening their water will make the next difference.

A video of the Nhamunda Heckels and Manacapuru Reds. You can see the heckels showing a bit of yellow in the fins and outer rim of the body. Hopefully a sign of them getting comfortable.
