Strainer for python
Just wondering if there’s such a thing as a strainer for the python tube. I have been using a old aqua clear sponge in the suction end of it. But the sponge has to come out when vacuuming the gravel. Wouldn’t be that much of a problem but I have some small Blue Rams and in the process of getting some Cardinals. If I don’t pay attention I could easily suck one of them up into the tube. Any advice?

Nylon window screen or mesh from an old fish net with a rubber band or zip tie works pretty well for really small fish. If you have a Lee's worm cone (the two piece kind), the cone part fits into the Python tube. Secure with a couple dabs of hot glue.

I use a spare strainer off an external canister filter, gives you enough space to suck up dirt and at the same time tetras etc are safe.
