A species of elemental sodium that can be detected in the gas phase. I was making a joke about the autocorrect of sodium thiosulphate to sodium triplicate.

Sorry, I meant to say sodium thiosulfate. For the older generation, this was known as "hypo" used to develop film in dark rooms. You'll get some sulfur dioxide smell, but it's perfectly safe. Like the dechloramines, it cannot be used as 2X - 3X dosage without any harm to fish.

Back when budgets were tighter, I used to use half doses of sodium thiosulfate and AmQuel to cut costs. It worked fine, but I got lazier with age.

I have been using sodium thiosulfate for about 25 years as a dechlor.I use 1 crystal for 5-10 gal. of water when I need a quick dechlor.$10.00 worth will last 10 years and it does what I want/need it to.Since our water, like most places is drinkable from the tap with the use of chlorine,I don't need anything else neutralized like heavy metals.
