Well Hello indeed! Drop dead gorgeous! They look really happy in their new home. Looks like the stress has passed.

Is that the lighting, tannins or Rooibos tea that is giving them the water they love so much?

At first glance I thought you bought them a welcome balloon. "Wow! Tobi is really giving them an celebratory welcome!" Then I looked closer. Is that turtle shell lamp?

Thank you. It's Roiboos, yes. The roots unfortunately don't give off tannins, so I have to help.

And yes, it's a turtle shell. My wife works at a Veterinary research institute, they get loads of this kind of things from various protection and rehab foundations, so a lot of the time it's either use it or incinerate it, museums etc can only take so much. In this case we chose to use it

Very cool. I would be sad to waste a shell as well. Great use of it.

The discus look very well settled and it seems you have given then the exact habitat they need. Good for you! Beautiful and perfectly researched for the new inhabitants.

It must be very satisfying to see it all working as planned. Thanks for sharing. It is so beautiful. Just inspiring....

It really is, I catch myself sitting in front of it for hours at times just watching the going ons.

It's just the beginning though, just spoke to the aquarium builder, they've started working on the 325gal for the greens. So more work ahead soon.

Took the water lettuce out, made a right mess of the water, and where it was floating the water didn't move. It looked better with it in there though, I'll look for some Eichhornia or Philodendron and see how it works in there
