Since the exporter does not have any full spotted greens I’ll probably stick to blue royals this time. There’s still a bit of room in the tank. I guess the maximum I would order is 6 fish.

Just saw this. Where is the face palm emoji when you need it??

New video of the incoming gang, now including the 4 Cuipeua. The exporter used his best potato to film this, sorry for the quality:

Delivery will likely be delayed by 3 or so weeks as he has some full spotted Nanays coming in this week, so will see if some will join this trip.

Sorry for the lack of activity. So much to do, so many excuses.
New fish arrived a few days ago, here’s a montage of the last feed today. I can honestly ssy I have never seen such big discus, wild or domestic. The Cuipeua are incredibly big, but a couple of the Batata are just crazy:

    Tobi,
Those are just gorgeous Wilds... like drop dead Gorgeous! WOW! and perfect for the tank! Quite jealous here.

One note/question...I'm seeing some tail fraying/erosion on a few.. Were these trimmed or is that something going on?

Thanks Al. I’m actually so happy with this batch, I’ve ordered 20 more last night.

You’ve got a good eye, Al. The fraying is from the quick quarantine solution I used this time. It’s a bit harsh on the fish’s slime coat and fin ends. It’s basically a bath of 15 minutes, and I don’t know what’s in it. It’s supposed to prevent cross contamination, made by a German company. I’ve been using it for a few years with plecos and cories that I didn’t have the chance, or will, to quarantine, and so far it has worked. A lot of people swear by it, some say it’s snake oil. So far all is well and I’m not seeing any issues, and am not expecting any. I know the exact treatments the fish have been through in Germany at the exporter’s.
I know it’s a risk not doing a proper qt, and I don’t advocate it, but that’s the route I went this time.
    Regards,
    Tobi

ts called transport protect or something like it. It is a powder, that you mix with water to get a bath solution. The pink colour probably comes from pp in it and it probably has a wide array of oxidants and other chemical compounds. This helps for external parasites and bacteria, but i dont know it also works for internal parasites. You must have a budget of a smaller african state.
