Thanks Paul, new 325 is ordered, eta 2 weeks. We'll see. Checked my parameters on this tank today, the plants are doing their job, 0-0-5. Happy with that

Beautiful Tobi. Really nice fish.

Just did a water change, been over a month since the last one, been on vacation.
Checked params pre change, still spot on. Looks weird without tannins, but their colors are off the hook in this light and water, hard to see in the pictures. Poor people phone pics as usual...

holy moly you went a month between water changes? you are brave. I would never risk such expensive and beautiful fish to that. I kind of want to scold you, and kind of want to applaud you at the same time.

Do you have an auto drip or something on this? Or just big enough filtration and light feeding to do so??
Im going a way for a week and stressed already about the fish, you give me hope! lol
No autodrip, just filled it up before I left. Pretty heavy filtratin, 50w UV, 5 big canisters and a fluidized sand filter. Main reason for the water quality in my opinion are the floaters an/or plant roots I have growing into the tank, on all 3 tanks in fact. I usually only do water changes when the water level grts too low for my liking (aesthetically). Usually every 2-4 weeks, depending on which tank/cover it is. The blues lose the most water as the cover is quite perforated from the factory. The other 2 are custom made and don't allow for a lot of evaporation.
Haha, I do test my water regularly. All 3 tanks have a constant 0-0-5 on the tests. If I had invested in sone anion kation nitrate resin reactors I'd probably just top up and not do wc's at all. If the water is perfect I don't see a reason to do any changes, I don't see a point in discarding perfectly good water and adding new trying to make it perfect again.
But usually during the top up I change about 25% give or take while the hose is in there anyway
