Three of the SS are this beautiful blue silver color. Size wise they are middle of the pack and hard to catch with a flash. This is the best I could do without flash.

One of the larger SS. Blue with an overcast of red.

Another SS with a golden blue cast.

The two turks in the group. The larger one has the most color of the group.

The colors are stunning, Pat. How big are these already?

Thanks Mando and funny you should ask. I netted and measured the smallest at just under two inches and one of the largest at 2 1/4 inches. Not huge and middle of the pack I think. We have a required measurement at the three month mark which is just around the corner.

Speechless, Pat! I might need some photography lesson. I think Al should do an online class sub forum for all things discus, photos, etc. lol

I've learned two things in this contest. One came from you, one from you. I don't have tiny Discus babies yet but I have a small group of 10 Half Black Angel fry in a 10 gallon which is way to big for them. They are starting to look like baby Angelfish so I want to wean them off BBS. They've only really taken to Al's Blackworms. I shred it with my microplane that I had only used in the kitchen.

Willie taught me to at least try feeding meat again. I don't know if it will work on baby Angels or not but I have some Discus that I know I can train to eat pure meat. I quit beef heart years ago for several reasons. I did raise a spawn of about 250 to adulthood on 99% free ground turkey. They came from good parents and they themselves were all good fish. I know it works so I'll start using it again.

I found that they quit eating BBS on their own, for the most part. They just lose interest. I fed mine beef heart from the beginning, so it wasn't hard to stop the bbs. Introducing another supplemental food has been a challenge though...

Liz, I have learned a lot from the other contestants in this growout challenge. It has been a great learning experience for me also.
