Looks like it, Brian!
Thank you Lynn! I'm really glad that people are still reading the challenge. It's why it was done!
Well, the water was right and they don't seem interested in eating the eggs within minutes after being laid. They seem to be fighting each other for the rights to guard (but not aggressively) so let's see if dad did his job!!

Very cool mate. Did you switch things up to make a RT pair & an SS pair or did you leave them as was?
Very cool Brian

Your discus are talking to you....are you listening
At this point, I left them alone. But since the female is very slowly picking off the eggs one at a time, she may find herself back in the community tank (if she's lucky ).
I really like a pair that takes care of their own but I'm headed to Lowe's in a bit to get some egg guard material.
egg crate ftw. Love that stuff. Used it as a temporary hood until my lady complained about fish smell. Then I got glass. Grats on the babies dude. Hopefully fry soon

A nice little surprise today. There's not many there but this is the first success so far. They seem to be caring for them and even fighting over them. Maybe the next spawn will be larger...

I just read this thread. Great job.
Are these wigglers from a SS x Turk pair Jeep?
Nice!!!!

Well, these two just can't seem to figure it out. This was their first success and it erupted into a huge fight over who would care for the fry. They kept moving them back and forth from the glass to the filter, and back again, and fighting the whole time. At the end of the day when the fighting stopped, all the fry were gone and the male was missing most of his tail. I couldn't really see this injury fully healing and repairing itself, so I decided to give it a trim and see if it would grow back.
Here's the initial injury.

Here's the day of the trim. He was NOT happy!

This is day 3 after the trim. The new growth is very transparent and hard to see but it it visible.

Day 5.

And this is 2.5 weeks after the trim. I'm really surprised at how fast it grew back. The new growth is still very transparent so hopefully it'll color up over time.
