Also extremely curious, they follow my wife and I anytime we are near the tank and will hover and watch me work at my desk. Mostly hoping for food I think.

I agree! My discus are used to the auto feeder. As soon as they hear the rumble against the top cover, they immediately start heading to the corner where the food deposits.

My discus are all very territorial and have a tendency of trying to control certain areas but every time they see me grab their food they all swim right to the top and stop fighting until after they eat. It's kinda funny.
