    Thank you.

I couldn't wait for an answer lol, the male was getting rough,so I separated the pair. I have male and fry on one side of divider.

Hate to post again but any idea why they are so hostile all of a sudden? They have been together for about 8 weeks and now this? I don't like them separated. Is this the way to go and what should I expect from here? All input welcome. I removed the divider again just to see , but they are hostile still?

They appear to be fine again, with both sharing fry duty. I'm stumped with this? Anyway will monitor I guess.

I think when a pair starts fighting one of the pair wants to spawn again and the other one doesn't if that makes sense.

Thank you very much. The best explanation I've heard thus far...lol. That makes total sense to me. I was a little freaked out and reacted quickly. I fastened "craft canvas" to egg crate and it works great for such a divider where the fry can't go back and forth (however just the egg crate would have been fine in this situation). They are getting on great right now, hope it continues. The fry are around the male 90% of the time, if that means anything.

The parents of these two were white faced yellow. When I saw their parents they were like these....more orange. The fella who originally brought those fish in said that is what they were when he got them. He said our mutual fish friend (who bred them),must have given them color enhancers. I am really interested to see how these color as they grow. Hopefully they will get that far. Just noticed they are now eating the beefheart mix I feed to the parents.discus33.jpg
