    May cordon off a 55 I think.

Half afraid to move the fry and parents. Would I be better off removing them together or should they be separated? The fry and parents are still together in a cordoned off 90 gallon. I really need to get them out of there and return the 90 to normal. I really only have a 55 available. Should I move them into that together or cordon that off as well and have the pair on one side and fry on the other?

I would move them together if the fry are still feeding off the parents.

Thank you. Would hate to see the parents upset to the point of eating the fry. My only real concern was that.

It might be a possible risk.

Well I have no alternative right now, that's the killer. 55 drained and all plants and fish in tote. Will prepare the 55 for the move tomorrow.

Caught the male "shrug" and all fry on the female. Really a sight to see. 55 all tape around with white bristol board from dollar store. Hoping this goes well!!

Has been a long time since I've hatched bbs. Is it ok to refrigerate the newly hatched brine.......I did last batch and the fry ate it, but it wasn't "alive" as I didn't see them moving when I fed it? I have read where some refrigerate it.....I am thinking of freezing it at this point? Ty

Has been a good while since I was at the brine shrimp and would like the input. Ty

During the grow out challenge I asked Pat about her use of BBS. She wrote that once hatched (before the egg sac was absorbed), she would drain into a fine coffee filter, place in fresh water and refrigerate. She would then feed "dead" BBS to her fry. I am sure she will chime in to confirm if I remembered correctly

Yes I read where it slows the metabolism of the shrimp thereby preserving the important yolk sac for a little longer. I am sure they died with the chill. Thanks for reply.

Just to add I also rinsed in fresh water before putting in fridge. I figure just as well to freeze them and stock up.

Male and female getting boisterous (squabbling) with the fry trying to stay close to them . Head butting kinda rough. Should I leave it or do some dividing? Total of 22 fry after a proper count. They are certainly not hanging around either of the two pieces or upright driftwood I placed in the tank.

My method for feeding BBS back when I was fortunate enough to be breeding discus was simple. I started a batch at 7AM and another at 7PM and feed it 24 hours later. Two huge feedings a day. I picked this method up from John Nicholson and it works really well.
