What are your thoughts about wireless pet fence?
I am planning to set it up for my beagle who keeps on sneaking out around the neighborhood.

They work well as long as you keep up with the battery on the dogs collars.

I ended up putting a chain link up instead of the wireless bc of two factors I read abt. First.......they do nothing to keep out visitors from outside the boundaries. Second.....if your dog should get into a hot pursuit of something, he can run through the barrier w adrenaline of the moment somewhat masking the jolt received and then he’s gone. And......I’d be nervous abt what Liz said.......a weak unnoticed battery. My dog is family and so I spent more to assure me he’s protected, especially since the hwy is close and so are the coyotes every few nights.

On the serious side, going back to my dog training days which was a black lab and he was full of desire to hunt, I used a training collar which is the same principle as the invisible fence but because of my dogs intense desire to hunt he was never left outside unattended you just can't trust them and as 14 Discus said they can power through the fence ,so I would go with a chain link, kennel, or tie out ,but never alone and unattended.
