Just read through this interesting thread. I have had red cherry shrimp for about 6 years, love em. They reproduce like crazy even in my hard-as-a-rock tap water. Ph about 9 and who knows about the tds. Just know it is very high.

This is so strange. I have all sorts of excellent things going on in the fish room, and fish room projects I want to do, and all I'm really excited about is this little planted 30 gallon with shrimp. This thread has been going for 5 pages in this Discus forum. Go figure...

Now that I know what to look for I see lots of little babies. I haven't seen the one with the red dot again but I see tons of tiny white dots hopping around on the drift wood. Another mama is giving birth. Adam, how long before the dots grow large enough for me to add around 20 Neons. If that turns out to be too many I will just net some out and feed them to the Angels.

I just put in a big fat bid on this pair of BN. I can just picture them in the shrimp tank. Can you imagine how excited I would be if one day they raised babies? http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/aucti...shp&1546054264

Probably a month or so. I don't think neons attack stuff they can't swallow whole. Apistos on the other hand look like terriers catching rats.

The aquabid pair looks REALLY clean, just remember the longfin gene isn't recessive. Frustrating how many folks still try to pull that nonsense.

Dang, you said that about the long fin gene and I had already forgotten. I don't care, but it would have been nice to have some LF fry.

Those super reds look really nice Liz. The same seller has a super red pair with the long fins.

Oh my, I'm going to have to take a look. I didn't see them when I bid on this pair.

I just bid $100. and have not met his reserve. I shouldn't even be throwing away $100. on fish at this point. I won't bid higher. They sure are beauties, aren't they?

We’re actually talking about two auctions by the same seller. One auction is for super reds with regular fins which is no reserve. The other auction is for the super red’s with the long fins which does have a reserve.

It'll be interesting to see how much the long fin pair will bring.

The short finned pair apparently have the long fin gene so you'd get a mix in their offspring...I'd go for them Liz...you breed multi generations already, so you can get some SR long fins to work with from the short finned pair. They're super nice looking as well...
