My fish guy gave threw that in. I don’t know what it is. I found a cool sword for my 75 gal. It’s tall with crinkled leaves. I’ll find out the names tomorrow when I go to the fish store.

Boo snails! They work well together, but snails certainly aren't necessary or even important. The only ones I (intentionally) keep are Tylomelania. Adorable but not plant friendly.

Red ludwigia. It likes a lot of light.

Oh...I don't think that my sword or anubias will like a lot of light.

It's still worth a shot if you do a plant order. Red plants don't always stay red without good light and supplements, but maybe it'll work out.

Liz, try red Crypts they’ll look very nice! I have red crypts growing on driftwood and no fertilizers. Red Ludwigia will not maintain its color without high light + Co2.

I don’t know what the red plant is. He didn’t charge me for it. I’m going back tomorrow for more substrate so I’ll try to find out. 53992938-3ED9-4FBA-BFEF-049974E28220.jpg
I bought this one for my 75 gal. I love the crinkled leaves. It’s a sword of some kind. I’ll find out about that too if your interested.

Thanks but I have an 18 year sword that no matter how often I cut back would take over the entire plant if I let it.

I couldn’t remember what the fish guy said that made me think it wouldn’t do good for me. Lights and ferts...we’ll see how it does. At least my tank is short so the light doesn’t have to travel far. Thanks Adam.

That’s great news. Thanks Adam. I’m not a snail fan, but do I need something for bio load to avoid a mini cycle?

I finally found a fish that will do well with cherry shrimp, the threadfin rainbow. They have very small mouths, like the same conditions, and they swim mid tank. I just ordered some.

    Take a wild guess

That red plant to me looks too butch to be Ludwigia, to me it looks more like Althernantera reinekii. It too grows more red with good light and ferts (particularly those with plenty of iron - that may not be appropriate with shrimps). Good news is that in my tanks it grows well even with very little light and no ferts, ok it could be more red but it still looks good. Post photos of the threadfins, was thinking of getting some for my southeast asia small tank
My discus are not fat...just big fish-boned

No, there should be enough bacteria on the plants and filter sludge.
