Thanks, Tobi. Yep, it could have been worse. If the male had jumped I'd be up the creek. That female would beat the stuffing out of any other male she was with.
Oh man Liz, so sorry to hear. Thank goodness at least you have her genetics to work with. I feel for you though.

Sorry to hear Liz, my wife’s favorite fish launched in the middle of the night out of my old 220 reef tank. It was a beautiful Blue Throat Trigger. Ever since I’ve kept some sort of cover or canopy on my tanks. Since I know you like diy, Home Depot sells screen frame kits you can make any size you want. On mine I went to the fabric shop and got mesh for bridal veils. It’s really light weight and lets light through great. Sorry again.... Mark
Im sorry for your loss Liz. Not a good way to start the new year , definitely.
I would try harder to find her though , before she starts to smell bad .

Sorry to hear about it, Liz. Glad you have a plan going forward and some kiddies to look after, but it's hard not to take jumpers personally.
just saw this thread... sorry for the loss, but.....DID you find it yet?
The cat must have drug her off.

Just read your thread. Condolences. Never a good thing any time of the year. I think my cat just sits & crosses his little paws in hopes of just such an event. Again so sorry "T"

What's past is passed. I still miss her every day, but she's gone and it's time to move on.
I put the Chicago Discus in with my good RSG male and he had her pinned in the corner for 3 days. Then I moved them and my other two males to a 75 to give them more elbow room. The Chigago Discus fish made it clear that that they were enamored so I gave them a love nest today. I bought them so I could cross them into my breeding project and it hasn't happened with my adult Discus so I will do it with their kids.
Always move forward never look back, right?

Hi Liz. Sorry about you losing your big guy. I've been following but haven't posted much. If your new pair doesn't follow through this time, you might consider leaving them in the community to fight for it for a while, so to speak. I think something like that has worked to get a pair going for me in the past.
