Default Cloudy Water in Test Kit

Anyone ever see this? I have a tank of figure 8 puffer fish that recently when I test ammonia the water in the tube is cloudy. Below is a pic.

On the left: puffer ammonia test, reading about .125-.25
On the right: discus ammonia test, reading 0.

I have started using VitaChem with the puffers the past few weeks. Could be that. Water in tube was always clear before that. The water in the puffer tank is not cloudy.

Just wondering if anyone else has seen this.

Never seen anything like it. I would ask the question straight to API customer service for a logical explanation if I were you.

On a tangent note, if the concern is that clowdy or heavily tinted water (with tannins, humic acids etc) may skew the reading of the colour, JBL tests come with two vials, in one you put straight tank water and then slide that along the colour chart so you can compare to it the test vial and get a reading that takes into account the tinted water
