Damn Brian
you sure have a nice collection of fish. Never seen any Dianema here, would gobble them up in a second.
I've believed for a long time that Dianema urostriatum is an under-appreciated "janitor" for discus aquariums. My experience with them as discus tankmates has been nothing but positive. They're basically "big cories" if you will. They'll take high temps, well into the 90sF in my experience, and are not as voracious as a pack of crazy cories. Mine tend to be a little more spread out, despite seemingly appreciative of being kept in small groups. My only complaint is that, like cories, they dart to the surface to "gulp" air and this sometimes makes the discus a little edgy since they're several times larger than most commonly kept Corydoras species.
Just some random comments and thoughts I wanted to share.
Cheers,
----Brian

Yep I've always liked them myself. Never see them in my neck of the wood though
