Sorry to hear about Jake, Pat having a close relationship with any creature is tough when you lose them. 33 wonderful years is certainly a long time to love and care about any thing. It's the toughest especially when you have to PTD I've had friends of mine, and animals of any kind are friends that got sick or just like Jake wanted to be with us but just couldn't make it any more, so we felt there suffering was to much to watch. I hope you find relief in what was the right thing to do Pat, again I'm sorry for your loss. Jim In Ohio

So my remaining horse is a buckskin called Bucky. He is desperately missing Jake and horses do best when they are with other horses. So my daughter has opened her barn to Bucky and tomorrow he will go to her house and be with her two horses. I will follow her to see how Bucky settles into his new place.

Pat, The hardest part of forming a close relationship with something is when that time comes that we lose them. Making connections and forming bonds,. family and friends, It'll make you smile and at times make you cry. But its the best way to spend our time here Pat. Jake would have told you that if he could I am sure. 14 years and I am sure that connection was strong. He was a lucky horse and you were a lucky Person to get to know him as you did.

Hope he has found his Greener Pastures.

I hope so too Al Totally agreed with forming bonds with animals or people. Loving and losing our loved ones is part of life. I feel for people who lose someone (animal or person) and decide to never connect again. They are missing out on so much.
