Stopped lying eggs
I bought a proven pair back in November. Since then they have come close to success. Second to the last time they had about 20 Wiggler's but the next day they eat them. The next time they eat them quickly. It's been since 26th and no eggs and they fight. I tried even added cooler water... Even good filtered water. Tricks to get them to spawn... Before it was like clock work.. every Tuesday or Wednesday night . Always 7 to 8 pm. Are they done? Do I have to wait a few months? Any ideas? I'm wanting this experience. I am even thinking of buying 2 more pair from this guy. $250 for both fish 6 to 7 inches and tank with equipment.

Re: Stopped lying eggs
The female stop spawning because it's the end of her spawning cycle. When will the next cycle start
again is anyone's guess. The second cycle is usually
not as active as the first, this is usually when the breeder will break up the pair or sell them.

Re: Stopped lying eggs
If you have other Discus put the pair in a large tank with them. Sometimes they want to switch mates. Sometimes they see that their old love is the best for them. It works.

Re: Stopped lying eggs
Don't give up...make your tank is in a private area free from direct lights or visible fish. You've already reduced the temp so give them a break then feed heavy on live black worms or frozen bloods. Do a decent WC with RO added if u can to lower pH. And raise the temp to mating temps 83 and up...make they are full and not stressed... sometimes they need to be full adults instead of young adults for success. Please update us ...good luck . Your recreating the spawning season yourself ....
