Default Help, please I’m frustrated. Discus eggs disappearing.

Hi all. I am very new to this but have an two beautiful discus who have laid and fertilized eggs for about 6 weeks now. My female has laid eggs (about 100 a time) 5 different times. We have gotten to swimmers once and then they died off quicky.

We are in a 40 breeder, changed to a sponge filter, water temp and conditions are perfect. No other fish in the tank and feeding them 2x a day. I’ve kept the lights on as I read that can help. I’ve seen circular screens applied, haven’t tried that yet.

Taking any ideas as the fish are beautiful and we would love to try and raise fry.

    Hello! Welcome to SimplyDiscus!

    A couple of things here.
1)When the fry went freeswimming did they attach to the parents sides or just swim about the top of the tank or bottom?
2)What is your source water and water change schedule? Do you age your water?
3)What strains are these Discus and their approx. Age?
4)Define "conditions are perfect" give us all the details you can.
5)Please post pictures of your pair and set up.

    Thanks!

Sometimes Discus can be so inbred that their fry can be very fragile and surviability can be very challenging, if not possible.
