    Default For Adam Finally!

This is my shrimp tank. The tank is loaded with shrimp but they don't show up very well.

The piece of lava rock was a gift from Barb. The water lettuce was a gift from Mando. The shrimp and most of the plants were a gift from Adam. Can anyone tell me what the plant is that's next to the rock? I got it at the LPS and the owner didn't know what it is called.

I'll guess at the sword plant;maybe Echinodorus parviflorus or E. Ozelot Green

Looks cool Liz. What are those huge snails? Plants and scape look great! Worth the wait.

Patty, the snails are mystery snails. They're cool because they have to lay their big nest of eggs above water level. If you don't want more snails you either take the next out and put it in the trash or let it drop down into the tank water. I'd offer you some but mine are pretty old and have stopped reproducing. I doubt you can get them at the LFS in Florida, but you can find some on Aquabid. They come in several colors and they're cheap.

I can send you some of my dwarf water lettuce if you like. It's very pretty and reproduces like gang busters.

Looks great Liz! I bet the lava is already got lots of shrimp in the holes. Is the Water Lettuce also called Salvinia? Looks like it. I think it is related to Duckweed, but way bigger leaves. I used to have it. Would like more.

I think I can get water sprite locally, but if not I’d love some. I’ll letcha know. I really like the way the roots look in the water. Have the shrimps had lots of babies? Im seeing a few berried females in mine-so bizarre looking.

They have had a ton of babies. I bet I have 3 times the number I started with. but since I introduced the neons I see no tiny little white dots. I guess I need more java moss, but the tank is already looking like a jungle.

Going to be great(er) once the water lettuce grows in some more.

I agree with Mervin: Echinodorus parviflorus or "rosette sword."
