Default How much sand in a 75 gal?

Evening everyone. Anyone have any recommendations on how much sand to use in a 75 ga. tank. I will have some live plants.

    Thanks

A 50 lb. bag of pool filter sand would do it for me.
Some might think that's rather on the low side, but better imo to keep it light - not more than 1/2" to 1" in front, to 2.5"- max. 3" at the rear - that's enough for many plantings- easy to keep clean, and should avoid any risk of formation of toxic gas pockets.

Thanks Paul. I've always used gravel but after seeing the tanks in this forum with sand (including yours) I really liked the look. I'm moving my Discus out of their current 55 gal. home to a new 75 and will be using the Mystic White.

The less sand you put the better for your water quallity and your discus, as Paul already suggested .
I like to trap the deeper sand bed (1-1.5 inch) with driftwood on the back of the tank , where I plant my plants , and leave the front open with just enough sand to camouflage and cover the glass .
