Filtration questions
I have a 65 gallon bare bottom tank with a lot of discus fish of varying sizes. I will be selling, rehousing, or donating a few of them if anyone in westchester county NY is interested. I plan to keep 13. I have 16 right now(half of them are small).
I would love to run my discus tank solely on sponge filters, although I love my aqua clear 110. Running both seems inefficient and cumbersome etc. I also have 2 atipro #4 sponges. Each supposedly can handle 80 gallon tanks.
Will the sponges alone do the job? If so how could I have a little water circulation and flow without the hob? Thanks !

Re: Filtration questions
Wavemakers can be found to be very small but efficient in water movement and circulation .
If the sponges will suffice , youll have to determine that your-self, observing water clarity and measuring Nh3 , No2 and No3 levels in the first 1-2 months since it is a variable dependant on many factors such as %WCs, feeding , bioload etc.etc.
