The double bar suggests a possible Ica Red Heckel cross?

Not sure Peewee. He has several bars but at time the Heckel bar is only one displayed. I will give you one guess where I got him from though Lol

Looks like a Kenny fish to me. If so Forrest has them but they are not seen very often. If it is the Ica Red then here is some useless knowledge for you. HR Axlerod originally named it the 'Dale Jordan Brown' back in the day. As time pasted I suspect that for marketing reasons the Ica Red label sounded flashier.

I did not know that but yes, Got him from Kenny about a year or so ago. He was sold as red Heckel x. I saw Kenny has some heckel crosses available this month too. Or had some, I'm sure they have sold by now.

Atm without discus, this is my fav fish, Vieja Hartwegi. She doesn't play nice with others though, lol

Wonderful Heckels, Pat. So many of the Heckels that I see have the striation. Yet I seem to have one that has nothing. Heckel bar and only sometimes tan or sometimes grey with some black on the fins. I have been searching for photos on the internet of one like it but have found nothing so far. Your Heckels are very nice are they wild cross?

Hi Peewee and thank you. These are wild heckels and not easy to maintain the blue. Many wild heckels fade over time. I have had these of over a year and am hopeful they will maintain their blue.

I think it just the way it looks in the photo Liz. I will see if I can get a different shot of it.

I really do not know Danny. I can tell you the four wild heckels I received from Peter Low at the 2018 NADA NJ show have grown but faded. Bring them back into a lite tank restored some of the blue. For the future I will be playing with water and diet and see how the fish respond.
