    Default Heckel comeback

My wild Heckel was looking dark and listless a week and a half ago.
So I started with salt heat and w/c. I then started with metro.
Did a dose, two days, w/c and dose again. Two days, w/c and
observed for a day. W/c and medicated with General cure, with
praziquantel, two days w/c and dosed again. Two days, w/c.
I have been doing water changes to wait and see if changes
occur. The color has lightened in the fish. I don't know if this
is an adverse reaction to the meds, or if the fish is showing
signs of improvement. W/c and I started to use levasimole,
because the fish is way to skinny, and is not eating. I have fed it
sparingly and it eats a little as I leave the room. I have some
pics to get some feedback on my Heckels' chance of comeback.

This condition has been developing for quite some time, I'd say at least 2 months or longer. It's pretty far gone but I believe there is hope. I've seen them come back before. It depends on if the issue is hex or worms...

First off, a solid metro treatment lasts 10-14 days, and if it can tolerate the high temps, 93 degrees. This discus may not be able to handle the heat, but Probably could handle 88 or so. Cutting this treatment short is not good as the hex can develop a resistance.

General Cure is a weak med and also contains metro and prazi. You are better and cheaper off buying the real meds from a place like Jehmco or Angels Plus.

If this discus has not been dewormed before, Levamisole is the med of choice, but I wouldn't run several courses of meds too quickly.

You said it's eating when you leave. Are you sure it's not just pecking? If it is eating, maybe a food mixed with metro can be used.

If you've already treated with Levamisole, wait a week or so before re-treating with metro. It's pretty stressed at this point...

    Thanks for the reply.
    Unfortunately the fish has passed.
I think it was a goner before I even started treatment of meds.
