    Default Planted Tank TODAY Pics

I don't own any planted tanks right now, I can't spare the space but I have had them in the past. Would love to see and hear about your planted or scaped tanks as they are today. If you guys are real good and participate well maybe I will pic one for special Kudos on the side bar.. Lets see those planted and scaped tanks! al

Hi,I have been in the hobby for 40+yrs.and went into planted tanks about 5 yrs. ago.I went all out with lighting, ferts and pressurized co2. Been pretty successful after a few algae attacks,it is really all about a balance of those three things.I waited until i retired to get into Discus so I would have the time to put into it.Got a lot of great advice and made a few mistakes but now have 6 beauties soon to be 8 in a 90 gallon tank.here is a video of my 40gal. breeder and 45 gallon planted tanks taken last night. As you can see I won'y be winning any awards for photography lol...

I have several planted tanks. Not all with discus:

30 gallon Alenquer pair tank: Very simple plants: anubias petite, java fern, African lily, criniums

60 gallon (now Altum Angels): java fern, anubias, crypts, water wisteria.

30 gallon Tucano/Orange-lemon tetra tank ( now Stendker Tefe Pair and Tucanos only):

    Geophagus/Eartheaters/African tetra tank\
New scape- opened it up to add more room for the eartheaters. Took out alot of plants.

    Old arrangement.

Thanks Liz. I’m really enjoying this tank. I spend way too much time staring at it and counting tiny little shrimps.

Really nice looking tanks Patty! I remember when I had a CRS & CBS shrimp tanks in Australia I would do the exact same shrimp count...a little too regularly actually, haha. What is the substrate in the 20gal? Is it shrimp sand? Are you dosing ferts?
