Very nicely done landscaping on these tanks Daniel. I like the variety of colors textures, leaves, and heights. Very pleasing to the eye and all the plants look so healthy.

    Thanks Daniel,
The substrate is called, Samurai Soil. It’s suppose to be good for shrimp, doesn’t change ph or increase hardness.
I just recently started dosing ferts. I picked Easy Green from the Aquarium Co-op because it’s shrimp safe and very easy to use. It’s all premixed liquid ferts, so I just squirt once per 10 gal and have 3 different bottles. It’s my first try with ferts, but so far so good.

I really like Discluv’s Discus tank. I think “less is more” with discus tanks. The discus are the star attraction and when a simple wood piece and a few well chosen plants are added, it really makes a statement.
I like your geo’s too. I’d like to try a group of them one day.

Thanks. Yeah, I know a lot of discus keepers subscribe to the "less is more" and "discus as star attraction" idea.
Personally, with adult discus, I like a lot of plants and dont feel they take anything away from fish. (shrug) ~ to each his own.

Was a Dutch scape tank before adding discus. Some plants equipment had to be changed.
Some plants still need to grow out.
The Macrandra has to be be changed when I decide on what to substitue with.

    Thanks Mando,
Look out Mando-that’s what happened to me! They are even more beautiful in person. I wasn’t an angel person until I saw Liz’s half blacks. At first glance it looks peaceful and serene, but the angels are little firecrackers so it’s never dull.

I have more of them for sale, just no pairs. I love Aquabid, but I prefer to sell to folks who are not perfect strangers.

Planted tanks are my first love and my discus are the last .
So I'm always struggling between the two of them , plants and discus .
Here are some timeline photos of my planted discus tank through years :

Nice work Casper. I can only imagine it's beauty once the fast growing stem plants took over the back with their lush growth in different colours .please share your photos , once they do.

Hello. It's been a while. I moved from LA in 2008, so I had to get rid of my fish. I finally setup another discus just last year. Minnesota water is awful so I had to take a lot of extra steps to make it work, mainly having my own RO system. Happy to say, it's been going good. I decided to do a planted tank this time, so I've spent the last year learning a lot. Here are my results as of two days ago. Glad to be back.
