In October I purchased 5 discus from Kenny. Two were the RW 4.75 inch and the AMG 3.5 inch. First week while all were staking their pecking orders the two spent most of their time together. Two days ago the AMG began pecking at the light blue cone (an inverted flower vase) that I had placed at the left side of the tank. Today, after a 20% WC and a dose of Malachite Green and after washing the accumulated algae from the cone the AMG and the R/W got busy pecking at said cone with purpose. Could be a sign. I will keep you posted if there be any further developments. In the past I have spawned discus in 20 gallon tanks with inverted flower pots. This is a 30 gallon with 5 discus. Chances for fry survival I suspect would be slim to none. If I see eggs I may buy a 20 gallon for the pair, if that is indeed what they prove to be.
