Hello there, We've got 50 baby discus of 2.5 months of age.
I Wanna know what are the best way to use preventive treatments (before shipping, or just to assure a good health). We're thinking about prazipro for the first treatment to prevent flatworm and gill flukes. They grew succesfully in a community tank and there's higher risks of health problems as i think...
Thx!
Hi Raphael, I would suggest lots of clean water and good food for now. Treating juvies at this age with meds can really hurt them and set them back growth wise. If you really think these guys have something it is really best to cull them (yes I know. No one likes this answer) and let the pair spawn and rear the fry up in a clean tank. If you suspect the parents have something treat them prior to spawning. This is the best preventive way ensure your fry are healthy with no issues.
