    Default My Bristlenose

I've gotten several Bristlenose from Adam a few months ago. They've grow out and I'm hoping I might get a pair.
I'm pretty sure this guy's male.

Here's the one I'm hoping is female.

Cool! I have some but I haven't given them the ideal place to spawn yet...

What else do you have in the tank with them? What do you feed them?

I plead ignorance on Bristles. What's the sex difference indicators.
I have one in my 75g tank. Did have two but during a pre-filter cleaning he decided to visit the intake tube all the way into the canister.

Yes, and I'm not quite sure what that is yet. They would probably have some competition where they are right now.

I guess I need to get a pic. These two are in my 75 planted-in-pots tank, with 4 adult angels and a few corries.

I had six, now four. Probably down the siphon. Adam is my source. I think the males have a red, almost x on top, and bristles on the nose. The females may have a lighter red pattern but not much, and I think no bristles on top of the nose.

You're correct about the sexes on these, Steve.

I understand they are primarily vegetarian, so I've been anchoring zucchini, green peppers, and carrots.

Mine love cucumber above all. I find the "veggie clips on a magnet" very useful (even more so to feed the mbuna), as the original by Two Little Fishes costs an extravagant amount to post to Europe I have made a few by fixing to a cheap magnetic glass cleaner some of those plastic clips used on coat-hangers
My discus are not fat...just big fish-boned

You are correct about the sexes. I don't meant to hijack, but here's a photo with a male and female. The bristles really stand out...
