Default Gravity switch on Aqueon heaters

I just bought some Aqueon Pro 300W heaters (cheaper than the 250's). They have a gravity switch that shuts the heater off if the top tilts below the bottom of the heater. Is this a new feature? When I mounted them, it was always horizontal. Nowadays I just let them lie, without brackets in my bare bottom tanks. The top never goes below horizontal, but still an interesting feature to consider.

Steve, are they the new ones with the clear/red switch? No clue if that's a new feature or not...

Yes, that's them. If that's their new design, I guess I'll learn to work with it.
